Each is served by a Liftmaster direct drive motor (manufactured and installed in 2015) and the one associated with the 2-car garage door also has a standalone standby power unit (backup battery) connected to it. Both direct drives have recently been plagued with frequent, intermittent “beeping”. I asked several Reno-based garage door repair companies to come out and take a look, diagnose the problem and give me an estimate for a repair. I ultimately selected Local Garage Doors to do the work for several very good reasons. (1) Ian (the technician who came out to diagnose the problem) was timely, thorough and very professional in his assessment. He identified the problem as being an issue with the wall-mounted consoles that control each of the direct drive motors (it turns out Liftmaster has had problems with that particular part in the past and has since replaced it with a new upgraded component). (ii) Unlike several of the other companies that visited, Ian did not try to immediately upsell me on a complete system replacement – a project that would have set me back over $2,500. That, in my opinion, deserves particular recognition. (ii) Ian returned several days later (once the required parts had been secured) to carry out the repair - and did so quickly and at a very reasonable cost. He even moved the position of the wall-mounted consoles to a much more convenient location in my garage. Overall I was very impressed and can recommend Ian (and Local Garage Doors) without reservation. 5 Stars.Chad discussed all that needed to be done and the cost. My pet peeve is a company trying to upsell and Danny didn't do that and because he didn't I will most certainly contact them when I need any garage service. Price was very reasonable and we are very satisfied.I would say this is the best company when it comes to service and quality. The door now closes perfectly, and the metal frame doesn't move at all, so I am very pleased with the work.
