About Local Garage Doors

Local Garage Doors is a family-owned garage door company working across California, Nevada, and Arizona. We have been doing this since 2013; we are licensed in all three states, and we have completed more than 102,000 jobs for homeowners in the communities we serve.

This page is about who we are, because letting somebody into your garage is a matter of trust, and you are entitled to know who you are calling.

A Family Trade

Tyler Martin did not stumble into the garage door business. He was born into it. His father has owned Doormark Garage Doors for more than 45 years, and Tyler grew up working alongside him. His uncles are in the industry. His cousins are in the industry. By the time he was old enough to start something of his own, this work was not a career choice so much as the family trade.

He founded Local Garage Doors in 2013, serving communities from Folsom to Rescue, and incorporated the business in 2017.

Tyler is hard of hearing and holds a degree in deaf studies. He stays closely involved in the communities the company serves, attending deaf socials and supporting first responders in Folsom and El Dorado County through charity events. When you call Local Garage Doors, the person whose name is on the company still lives in the area it started in.

How We Grew

Growth came one region at a time, and only where we could staff it properly.
  • 2013 — Founded, serving Folsom to Rescue
  • 2017 — Incorporated
  • 2018 onward — Expanded into the Bay Area
  • 2020 — Lake Tahoe
  • 2024 — Las Vegas
  • Since — Arizona
Today, that covers Sacramento and the foothills, the Bay Area, the North Bay, San Diego, Lake Tahoe, Reno and Carson City, Las Vegas, and Arizona. Every one of those markets was opened with technicians on the ground, not a call center and a subcontractor list.

The Numbers

More than 102,000 garage doors serviced since 2013. More than 6,500 customer reviews across Google, Yelp, Facebook, and Angi, over 3,000 of them five-star. Licensed contractors in three states.

We put those figures here rather than in a badge because they are checkable. You can check them on our reviews page, with the reviewer’s name attached to each one, and the license numbers below link to the state registries.

The People Who Show Up

A garage door company is only as good as the technician standing in your driveway. Ours are employees, not subcontractors, and they arrive in company vehicles with the tools and parts the job needs.

We promote from within at every level. The managers running our regions today started out in the field, which means the person supervising your job has done your job.

What Happens When You Book

01

You call or book online. We are open seven days a week, and estimates are free.

02

You get a technician, not a window. You receive a notification when the technician is dispatched and can track their arrival.

03

We diagnose before we quote. You get the cause, the options, and a price before any work starts.

04

We test before we leave. Balance, safety reversal, and travel limits get checked on every visit, whatever the original problem was.

05

The work is backed by our workmanship guarantee.

Licensed in Three States

We hold a California Contractors License (CA #1023930), a Nevada Contractors License (NV #0087802), and an Arizona Contractors License (AZ ROC #356696).

Every one of those is public. You can look up our California license with the state board directly, and we would encourage you to do that with any contractor you are considering, including us.
